The Hohner Building, 473-475 Broadway
New York, NY

Named for the noted instrument maker which once occupied its sixth floor, the Hohner Building was designed by Ralph Townsend and built in 1894. Part of the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District, it was converted to residential lofts in 2001 and divided into two addresses: 473 and 475 Broadway. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services to restore the building’s Renaissance Revival facade.
The restoration scope included removal and replacement of cracked masonry units, masonry repointing, limestone restoration, and sealant joint replacement.
