Columbia University, Jerome Greene Hall
New York, NY

Columbia University’s Jerome Greene Hall (Harrison & Abramovitz, 1961) houses the University’s Law School and Law Library on the Morningside East campus. SUPERSTRUCTURES produced a facade repair plan to remediate masonry conditions identified through a previous FISP examination. Guided by that examination, 100% of the masonry on the building’s north, south, and east elevations was inspected, focusing on the distinctive limestone “fins” (pictured) and their triangular steel anchors. Subsequent restoration work included limestone dutchman repairs and masonry sealant replacement. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigations, design, and construction administration services for this project.
