SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services to restore the fifth floor, main, and penthouse roofs of the Ingersoll Hall Extension, an academic building at Brooklyn College. Restoration work included: removal of the existing ballasted thermoplastic membrane; concrete deck repair; installation of new extruded polystyrene insulation to meet the minimum R-30 insulation requirements; installation of vacuum insulated panels (VIPs) at low flashing conditions (e.g. door saddles); and installation of a new fluid-applied, protected membrane roofing system. The project also included limestone spall and crack repair, masonry cleaning, and installation or modification of parapet railings to meet minimum height requirements.
