As architects and engineers specializing in the preservation of New York’s buildings, we don’t just like to work on the City’s landmarks, we also like to work in them. For the past 13 years, SUPERSTRUCTURES has called the Art Deco environs of 32 Avenue of the Americas—the landmarked AT&T building—home. It’s been a good fit, but we’ve outgrown our Tribeca location and have decided to move to 14 Wall Street in mid-2020, as reported in Lois Weiss’ column in the New York Post last week.

In searching for a new office, we wanted to maintain many of the desirable qualities of our current address: proximity to a transportation hub to get to our various project sites around the five boroughs, an inspiring space with abundant light and high ceilings, and the architectural ambience of a landmarked building. Because we believe that the greenest building is the one that already exists, we told our broker that we’d like to apply that principle to our new interior as well. An office formerly occupied by another architecture or engineering firm would accommodate our growing practice with a minimum of demolition and alteration. Previously occupied by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 25^th floor of 14 Wall Street fit the bill on all counts. We look forward to continuing our work—and our growth—in this new location.
