SUPERSTRUCTURES specializes in restoring “skin” and “skeleton”—the building envelope and underlying structure. Parking structures are quintessential skeleton. They’re of interest because of the condition assessments required by New York City’s Local Law 126, and, unfortunately, some recent failures.
Our restorations of two significant White Plains parking garages are good case studies, both posing broadly similar challenges, but in slightly different contexts.
Parking Structure 1 comprises 365,000 square feet over six levels, with 1,300 parking spaces. Parking Structure 2 comprises 76,000 square feet over two levels, with 400 parking spaces.
Restoration work includes “classic” concrete waffle slab repair, concrete patch repair, expansion joint and steel curb replacement, concrete slab coating, and slab-on-grade repair.
Here are some photos of work in progress.
Our team of New York State professional engineers includes multiple Qualified Parking Structure Inspectors (QPSIs), a credential required for the assessments mandated under NYC’s Local Law 126. More importantly, they’re experienced and adept at identifying and remediating parking structure problems safely and sensibly.
Moreover, we offer a meticulous, strategic approach to maintaining parking structures to help keep owners ahead of the compliance curve.
SUPERSTRUCTURES maintains a website with a wealth of information on Local Law 126.
