Building 14 is a three-story building constructed in the late 1960s, and houses the administrative offices for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). The roof system had exceeded its life expectancy and the manufacturer warranty period. Diagonal cracking of the brick masonry veneer was caused by water infiltration through the roofing membrane and the perimeter metal flashing from the inner cores of the bulkhead walls. Mortar joints between concrete masonry units were also cracked and weathered. The doors servicing areas handling all airport equipment and vehicles were also in need of replacement. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation and design services for the replacement of the roof and doors.
