Holland Tunnel
NY and NJ

SUPERSTRUCTURES completed a survey of the full length of the side wall of the Holland Tunnel north tunnel near lane, and partial-length surveys of the side walls of the other three lanes (north tunnel far lane, and south tunnel near and far lanes). These surveys were for the purpose of locating and quantifying areas of missing or visibly unbonded wall tile. Based on this survey, a total of 4,095 SF of tile was identified as needing to be replaced. Approximately 85% (3,500 SF) of this tile was already missing, and the rest required removal. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided an additional findings report including recommendations for repair of additional conditions. Subsequently SUPERSTRUCTURES provided design and construction administration services.
