Cedar Manor Cooperative Residence
Queens, NY

Cedar Manor (116-11, 31 & 51 157th Street) is a three-building complex of eight-story, brick masonry-clad buildings built in 1961. SUPERSTRUCTURES conducted a FISP Cycle 8A examination of the buildings, finding various unsafe conditions in need of immediate repair. Subsequent restoration work included: repair of cracked masonry units and masonry repointing; repair of spalled concrete; and replacement of steel lintels. The restoration also included removal and replacement of the roofing system and flashings. The replacement roof was an NVS system and bulkhead door saddles were raised to accommodate it. Existing drains were replaced in kind, new wearing surfaces were applied, and new guard rails were installed. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services.
