Time and the elements were taking their toll on the masonry, stone, terra cotta, and sheet metal facade of this New York City Landmark built in 1894.
SUPERSTRUCTURES’ solution: an investigation which catalogued every defect and a restoration plan to make the facade shine again. Restoration work included: masonry recoating; concrete spall repair; coping replacement and sky joint sealant replacement; brick masonry veneer reconstruction; brick masonry and stone repointing; terra cotta crack and spall repair; and raised terra cotta joint repair. The project also included: limestone and marble crack and spall repairs; stone unit re-anchoring; and decorative sheet metal repair and replacement.
