This building in the Riverside-West End Historic District was designed by Gaetan Ajello in the Italian Renaissance Revival style. Built in 1912, it was converted to a co-op in 1983. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services to restore the building’s envelope, in coordination with the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The scope of the project included: removal and replacement of cracked masonry units; masonry repointing; stone and precast concrete crack repairs; terra cotta crack and spall repair; and terra cotta unit replacement. Restoration also included: window sill replacement; restoration of window frames; scraping and painting of steel lintels; and sealant joint replacement and installation.
