Built in 1947 to house machinery for chocolate production, this Brooklyn building is now the Chocolate Factory Condominium. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services to restore the envelope of the six-story, reinforced concrete structure.
The project included repair of cracked and spalled concrete, window sealant joint restoration, and exterior coating restoration. Deteriorated concrete was sounded and removed, and cracks were repaired with injection adhesive. Deteriorated rebar was repaired and protected with corrosion-resistant coating, and rebar anchorage was repaired or replaced.
