SUPERSTRUCTURES conducted a FISP Cycle 8C critical examination of this steel-framed, 19-story educational tower built in 1976. A restoration plan followed to address deficiencies in the facade. Restoration work included: repair of spalled and cracked precast concrete panels; coating of exposed and rusted rebar; replacement of spalled or missing brick masonry units; replacement of all joint sealants at precast concrete panels and below copings; and replacement of deteriorated or missing building expansion joints. The project also included: replacement of deteriorated or missing window perimeter and glazing sealant; installation of new main roof railing system; repair and replacement of loose, damaged, and missing metal panels; installation of through-wall flashing above windows and below copings; and suspended metal panel ceiling replacement.
