This summer, we welcome five new interns to our practice.
These internships will give these students an introduction to our profession and to the art, science, and business of restoring New York City’s buildings and infrastructure.
Satish Doobay and Mauro Palacios are working with our Architecture and Engineering studios, while Uriel Alpin is assisting our Practice Development team, Tiffany Yum is working with Municipal Expediting, and Zubeidaa Badri is interning in our Business office.
These interns hail from two programs: Ladders for Leaders and the NYC School Construction Authority High School Summer Internship Program. We’re proud to participate in both of these programs.
Ladders for Leaders is a nationally recognized program that offers outstanding high school and college students the opportunity to participate in professional summer internships with leading corporations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in New York City. It’s a component of NYC’s Summer Youth Employment Program, the nation’s largest summer jobs program. Our Ladders for Leaders intern placements were coordinated through Commonpoint Queens, which is dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the quality of individual, family, and communal life throughout the borough through services to people of all ages and backgrounds.
The NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) offers career-specific, six-week internships through its Summer Internship Program (SIP). This opportunity introduces talented NYC public high school students to a wide variety of careers including architecture, engineering, construction management, business, information technology, and public administration.
We look forward to continuing our participation in these internship programs—part of our efforts to build careers (not just fill positions).
