New York, NY
This neo-gothic 27-story cooperative apartment building was constructed from 1927-1929. A designated New York City Landmark, it features a brick masonry facade, with terra cotta accents and a limestone-clad base. The program will address the integrity of the building's exterior walls, roofs and terraces. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design and construction administration services for the project. The seemingly monochromatic buildingalso underwent a complete façade cleaning that uncovered rich patterns of colorful brick including some that suggested a three-dimensional trompel'oeil effect. Owner: One Fifth Avenue Owner's Corporation. Management: Rose Associates, Inc. Cost: $1.6 Million.
